Open Water Course

The SSI Open Water Course is the first step in diver certification; it allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters, anywhere in the world.  Gili Air offers the perfect training area to complete your Open Water training and Manta Dive Gili Air creates the ultimate chilled out learning experience.  Our professional, experienced Instructors will share their enthusiasm for diving, teach you all the essentials of dive theory, and help you master the required skills in the confined water our spacious swimming pool.  Then you will put these skills and knowledge into practice in the Open Water one of our beautiful dive sites located around Gili Trawangan, Meno and  Gili Air.  Ages 10 and up can become Open Water Divers.

The course takes 3 to 4 days and includes 4 dives in the Open water. We limit the class sizes to a maximum of 4 students per instructor. This means everyone will get the most out of the course, and when you dive in the pristine clear waters around the Gilis you will be able to fully appreciate the Turtles, Reef Sharks, various Rays, and an abundance of fish of many varieties. The environment of the Gilis is perfect for taking your first steps into the Underwater World!  We are lucky to see many diverse sea creatures on our dives, even at shallow depths on beginner dives.
